Wills, trusts and estate planning
We can help you to arrange your affairs to provide the best solutions for your family, to take effect either upon your death or in your own lifetime. Remember if you die without a Will your spouse/civil partner may not inherit all of your estate.
We will advise you of the options available and prepare effective legal documents to realise your intentions.
From a simple will to a more flexible family trust, we can ensure you make the best possible provision for your dependents.
The benefits can be substantial, not just in terms of your own peace of mind but in real financial savings for you and your family.
If you or someone you know is unable to cope with their financial affairs, due to illness or incapacity we can advise you further.
Tax
We always have very much in mind the current tax laws and we ensure that you receive the best tax advice in conjunction with our own legal work.
Inheritance Tax especially now affects many more of us than ever before, even if our only asset is our own home. We all need to be aware of potential tax issues with our property and affairs these days.

Probate
Probate applications, executorships and trusteeship are all areas that we have expertise in.
We are pleased to offer appointment at either of our two offices, alternatively home vists can be arranged if required.
Video Wills
Thinking about what happens after we die is difficult, but a new service from Howlett Clarke may take away some of your concerns and apprehension.
We would like to offer you, in addition to making a standard Paper Will, the opportunity to make a Video Will.
We do not always get the chance to say or explain things we may wish to, but you can do all of this with a Video Will.
A Video Will is not a replacement for a Paper Will; rather it is a way of strengthening your existing Will and communicating with your loved ones after your death:
-
show you are in sound mind and body by reading your own Will
-
explain in person why certain bequests were made
-
make specific requests
-
make sure you say the things you really feel whilst you are alive
A Solicitor from Howlett Clarke will either visit you in the comfort and privacy of your own home or welcome you into our offices to explain everything and review a copy of your existing Paper Will if you have made one.
Once the filming is complete, the video can be stored along with your Paper Will until it is required.
For more information about video wills, please contact:
email videowills@howlettclarke.co.uk or telephone our FREEPHONE number 0800 0156918 and ask to speak with a lawyer from the Wills and Trusts Department.
